Laser Does What We Cannot
Accelerating Your Body's Natural Healing Process
How Laser Complements Your Care
At MSK Specialists, we use Tetherwork™ objective testing to identify the source of your problem. Manual therapy restores movement, reduces tension, improves function, and helps normalize nervous system communication. While these treatments improve how your body moves and functions, there are limits to how quickly injured tissue can heal.
That is where therapeutic laser treatment comes in.
How Therapeutic Laser Works
Class IV therapeutic laser delivers concentrated light energy into injured tissues, where it is absorbed by cells and used to support the body's natural repair processes. This process, known as photobiomodulation, helps improve cellular function, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and promote tissue healing.
Why We Use a Class IV Laser
At MSK Specialists, we use a Class IV therapeutic laser that delivers 810 nm, 980 nm, and 1064 nm wavelengths. These wavelengths penetrate deeper into tissue than most low-level laser devices commonly marketed for home use.
Research suggests these wavelengths stimulate the mitochondria within cells, increasing ATP production and supporting the biological processes involved in tissue repair. The result is improved cellular metabolism, reduced inflammation, enhanced circulation, and more efficient healing.
Our Treatment Philosophy
Tetherwork™ identifies the problem. Manual therapy restores movement. Therapeutic laser helps your body heal faster.
Laser does what hands alone cannot. It accelerates your body's natural healing process.

Clinical Research
Therapeutic laser therapy is one of the most extensively researched technologies in rehabilitation medicine. Hundreds of peer-reviewed studies and numerous systematic reviews have evaluated its effects on pain reduction, inflammation, tissue healing, and functional recovery. The articles below represent only a small sample of this research.

Try Laser Therapy During Your Visit
If objective testing indicates that laser therapy may benefit your condition, we offer a brief trial treatment during your regular appointment. This allows you to experience laser therapy before deciding whether to purchase a treatment package.
Many patients notice a change during or shortly after their first treatment, although results vary depending on the condition being treated.
Laser therapy may help support recovery from:
-
Acute injuries
-
Muscle strains
-
Tendon and ligament injuries
-
Joint pain
-
Inflammation
-
Slow-healing tissues
Our providers will determine whether laser therapy is appropriate for your condition through objective testing.
